தமிழக அரசு பள்ளிகளில் இந்த கல்வி ஆண்டில் 3459 ஆசிரியர் பணியிடங்கள் நிரப்படும் என்று அமைச்சர் கே.சி.வீரமணி அறிவித்துள்ளார். (அதில் முதுகலை ஆசிரியர்கள் 952, பட்டதாரி ஆசிரியர்கள் 2489, உயர் கல்வி இயக்குனர் 18). மேலும் சார்ந்த பணியிடங்கள் 75, ஆசிரியர் அல்லாத பணியிடங்கள் 340 -ம் நிரப்பப்படும் என்று அறிவித்துள்ளார்.
திருவள்ளுவர் பல்கலைகழகத்தில் ஆசிரியர் அல்லாத பதவிகளுக்காக விண்ணப்பங்கள் வரவேற்க்கப்பாடுகின்றன.
